The Faulted Attitudes Of Leado-Follower-Ship And The Way Out

Attitude they say is everything and everything is about Attitudes. In leadership, the most paramount aspect of life existence is the character we exhibit towards something or someone; and that forms our attitude and gives an impression of that very 'thing' we do or believes in. Today let's be honest about our place of worship.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you have in some way an object of worship! Now the issue is; what are some of your attitudes towards your place of worship that are not proper or getting out of proportions!? The lists are endless, but below are few of the offensive behaviors people practice on daily basis. You'll surely find one or more that you are guilty of:

1. Consistent Look at your Wristwatch to check time: Most people are guilty of this. Once the 'sermon' is getting a bit long, they begin to take glances at the wristwatch, wishing the service would come to an end quickly.

2. Chewing Gums: Have you ever sat near someone in a place of worship who is chewing gum like a cow chewing cud? You know how annoying that can be, right!? Some even go as far as making silly sounds and blowing bubbles!

3. Receiving Calls, Pinging and Texting: This is pure disrespect to your 'God'! As if it’s not bad enough that your phone rings out, you will now go ahead to pick the call. You see some people pinging and texting. This is just so wrong. Would you be pinging if your boss was talking with you?

4 Wearing Party Dresses: Cloths and clothing's are made for specific purposes, our discretion should take charge but no! There are clothes meant for serious formal programs. You shouldn’t wear your skimpy and revealing clothes to a place of worship. Just because the leadership allows you the freedom to be comfortable doesn’t mean you have to take that for granted.

5. Taking 'Selfie' During Sessions: My parents me that there is time for everything, but our generation is proving otherwise. More especially the ladies. They are the ones who like to take photos of people's outfit and hairstyles for fun or because they also want to make that style.

6. Dozing and Snoring: during sermons: It’s funny when you spot people sleeping, snoring and falling over their neighbours. You might be tired and all that, but try and keep your eyes open. It's just for a little while and you will be in your bed.

7.  Late-Coming Excuse Makers: Many people are experts in the habit of going for sessions, some when the sermon is about to start or have gone half way, that is when they enter the church. Others give the excuses of why they were not able to get their children ready on time. But the question is this; During school hours, how do you manage to get them to school before 8 am?

8. Neighbor-neighbor Gists: Most people engage in silly chit-chats while the session is on, this is very common. Now listen, not paying attention to your leaders is very bad and you'll end up missing out.

9. Eyes Open Experts: People are fond of going this; during prayers sessions or periods, watch how others are praying: Close your eyes and pray your own so that your miracle doesn’t pass you by. Stop being childish.

10. Inordinate Display of Affection: We understand you love your spouse a lot but can you kind suspend the petting till the session is over!? It could be distracting to those around you.

11 Taking/Reading Newspapers and magazines: Some men do this during sermons and prayers sessions. Why can't you wait till you get home?

12. Jotting/Noting the Speaker’s Grammar Flaws: As a teenager, I was an expert in this wrong behaviors; Some people do this to keep themselves busy. Instead of listening to get the message, they pay attention to get all the errors.

Men and brethren would you blow bubbles or make noise with your gum if you were standing in a law court, right before the judge? Would you pick your calls when your boss is talking to you? If your answer is no, then you shouldn’t do it to the God you claim to serve.

Finally, Elohim, the Eternal Jehovah deserves your RESPECT and HONOR above these two examples.

My Advise - If You Ask Me!? If you ask me, I'd say: Stop at the car park; spit out your gum, turn off your cell phone, check that you’re appropriately dressed and make the most of the precious little time you have to spend in the presence of God.

Because I care, hence my submissions!
